Environmental and energy management

Our procurement system is based on our high standards for increasing resource and energy efficiency. We ensure that all requirements of ISO 14.001 and ISO 50.001 are met. We are actively committed to encouraging our suppliers and service providers to integrate environmental and energy aspects into their day-to-day operations.

With the clear goal of continuously developing and improving our environmental and energy management practices, we are creating a sustainable future together.

We want to reduce environmental impact in any form to an acceptable minimum and fulfill the legal requirements as minimum criteria.

This includes minimizing the nature and extent of the environmental impact of our activities, products and services on the neighbourhood in the immediate vicinity and the city in the wider area.

We want to use energy and water resources responsibly, substitute hazardous and environmentally harmful chemicals where possible or otherwise reduce them to a minimum, avoid waste wherever possible and dispose of unavoidable waste properly.

Our overarching goal is to reduce CO2 emissions and continuously improve energy performance, always in line with our high quality standards for products and services. One milestone on this path was the complete switch to green electricity at the Mainz site in 2015, followed by the Wetzlar site in 2022.
